MONITORING
According to the Carbon Trust, typically 20% of all business’ annual energy costs are wasted through the use of inefficient equipment. Effective energy monitoring on a granular asset level continuously monitors equipment’s performance and energy output and instantly recognises when an asset is not operating efficiently.
Energy monitoring becomes even more effective when it is conducted in real-time. As soon as an asset breaks down, instant notifications can be sent to the maintenance team to rectify the situation before excessive amounts of energy is wasted. In addition, the continuous monitoring and analysis of equipment data means predictive maintenance can take place, so assets can continue to operate efficiently at all times with fewer failures. Reducing the cost of factory downtime.
We conduct auditing and monitoring to help you assess the competency and standards of your terminal and facility service providers.

ALTERNATIVE FUELS
As the demand for low-carbon energy sources grows, the use of alternative fuels such as refuse, biomass, wood pellets and wood chips is becoming more widespread. Their sourcing generates the same needs for quality, reliability and sustainability as exist in traditional energy markets.
Renewable energy is energy derived from natural sources that are replenished at a higher rate than they are consumed. Sunlight and wind, for example, are such sources that are constantly being replenished. Renewable energy sources are plentiful and all around us.
Fossil fuels - coal, oil and gas - on the other hand, are non-renewable resources that take hundreds of millions of years to form. Fossil fuels, when burned to produce energy, cause harmful greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide.
ALTERNATIVE FUELS
Generating renewable energy creates far lower emissions than burning fossil fuels. Transitioning from fossil fuels, which currently account for the lion’s share of emissions, to renewable energy is key to addressing the climate crisis.
Renewables are now cheaper in most countries and generate three times more jobs than fossil fuels.
Our extensive expertise in the energy industry, combined with our global capabilities means that we can help you manage your alternative fuels supply chain wherever you are in the world and whatever your requirements. Through the development of best practice and methodology and risk reduction, we will make sure that your alternative fuels meet required standards, ensuring the safe running of your operations. ASSESSMENT PHASE
Wind energy usage is increasing at fast rates due to significant technical advances, energy supply security and environmental concerns. Research is focusing among other areas on the development of reliable and accurate wind energy assessment methods. Offshore wind energy resources are usually larger than at geographically nearby onshore sites, which may offset in part higher installation, operation, and maintenance costs. Successful offshore wind energy development relies on accurate analysis and assessment of wind energy resource potential. Offshore wind assessment challenges are related to the wind turbine size, offshore installation challenges, lack of adequate and long-term wind and meteorological measurements, etc. Wind, a highly intermittent phenomenon has large spatiotemporal variability, being subject to sub-hourly, hourly, diurnal, seasonal, yearly, and climate variations in addition to their dependence on the geography and environment. Wind regime characteristics are critical to all aspect of a wind energy project, e.g. potential site identification, economic viability, equipment design, operation, management, or wind farm impacts on the electric grid. For a reliable wind energy assessment, measurements at rotor heights are required at least for one year. If such measurements are not available needs to be substituted by alternative approaches, e.g. measure-correlate-predict or numerical methods.
At this crucial design basis and site assessment stage, our offers a wide range of services to help you make the right choices, ranging from assessment to auditing to testing to technical assistance. Our global coverage and depth of know-how guarantees you access to up-to-date information and techniques – wherever you are in the world. When deciding on the site and design for a project, the project sponsor needs to ensure that the project goes ahead on the optimal basis.
TURBINE & FOUNDATION PHASE
Never before has the question of optimizing the foundations for wind turbines been as valid as today, in the context of searching for the best model of financing and highest profitability of investments in wind farms. When deciding to undertake such a project, investors must specify the expected rate of return and time frame for investment in advance. Most often, the financing is based on a feed-in tariffs (FiTs), feed-in premium (FiP), tenders, tradable green certificates (TGS), Power Purchase Agreement or Contracts for Difference (CfDs).
In recent years, more and more is heard about investments without subsidies, based only on a fixed price for the energy generated, so-called “black energy”.
Regardless of finding the best model of profitability of a wind farm, the interest of each investor is to optimize the project implementation costs. The better the wind farm project is prepared, thought out and planned, the more money can be saved. The biggest reductions in investment costs can be obtained at the stage of wind project implementation, in which one of the most significant expenses is the cost of the foundation itself.
The optimization of the foundation for the tower of the wind turbine should first of all be made with rationality, based on knowledge and experience, because the basic goal must be the failure-free construction. It is ill-advised if the marketing pressure of winning orders leads to balancing on the edge of security.

MANUFACTURING PHASE
Solar cells basically consist of pure silicon, a metalloid which in nature is not available in that pure condition. A first step is the deoxidization of silicon dioxide (SiO2) through carbon arc welding (CAW). In this process, carbon dioxide (CO2) and silicon are produced. This silicon produce with ca. 99% still not sufficiently pure for solar cells must then further be purified. Purification is done through the floating zone technique under which the 99% silicon rods are moved through a heated zone many times into the same direction until all the impure parts of the rod are at one end of the silicon rod. The impure part is then cut off and the remaining 100% pure silicon rod can now be used in the production process.
